Google Fail

One of the things I have always found neat about Google is their whimsical logos that they put out to celebrate holidays and events. As an example, at the beginning of Spring this year, they had an homage to Eric Carle’s famous book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Yet today, in what could be considered the anniversary of this generation’s Pearl Harbor – how do they celebrate it? Like this

Yet if you go to Bing – Microsoft’s new Search tool found a way to mark this day in a very classy way; that brings no sensationalism to it.

I will be switching to Bing for my searching needs. I hope you will join me.

Good post and point about Google, Tom.

The anniversary of 9/11/01 should be duly noted. It should NEVER be forgotten.

However, and sadly, I fear that in our good-time, rock and roll, phony-baloney culture as time continues on, the trend will be to forget and ignore this date and tragedy.

This anniversary is not yet forgotten and it does receive attention. But, I think the media will ignore the fact of 9/11 more and more. If Google can be included as part of the media, then today's Google logo is an example of what I fear.

You should have been upset a long time ago. Google has never commemorated 9/11 with a special logo. Anyway Google did not forget 9/11. ~G
